Charlotte A. Lind, 77, former Crawforsville resident died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Norwegian Old Folks Home in Chicago where she had resided for the past three years. She was the widow of Martin V. Lind who was a mechanic here for many years. Mrs. Lind emigrated from Mandel, Norway with her parents when only a child. She resided in Chicago with her family until she was married at the age of 18. She and her husband took up housekeeping in Crawfordsville until his death in 1952. After her husband’s death, Mr. Lind moved to Chicago. She was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Crawfordsville. She was born in Mandel Dec 28, 1889. She was married on June 25, 1908 to Lind in Danville, Ill. Surviving are a stepson, Edmund L. Lind of Demorest, Ga; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Eston O. Mikels of Crawforsville; a brother, Robert Berg of Mandell; three sisters, Mrs. Gardia Erickson of Plainfield, Ill; Mrs. Ragnhilde Gunvalsen and Mrs. Edith Sollie, both of San Pedro, Calif. Twelve brothers and sisters preceded her in death. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Bright Funeral Home with a Christian Science reader officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery beside her husband. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Friday. - kbz
